Design and Simulation of Forced Air-Cooling Collector Heat Transfer System for High-Power Communication Traveling Wave Tubes

Abstract
The forced air-cooling collector heat transfer scheme for C-band high-power communication trave-ling wave tubes(TWTs)is studied.By using the Fluent fluid simulation software,the heat transfer characteristics of the air-cooling collector is calculated and simulated.Taking fin thickness and fin number as the analysis factors,the effects of different cooling fin structures on the maximum temperature and wind resistance of the air-cooling collec-tor are compared,and the size and quantity of the cooling fins are determined.The simulation result indicates that the collector with integrally formed fins has excellent heat transfer performance,which simplifies the process flow,and improves the production efficiency and reliability of the product significantly.The type of the cooling fan is de-termined.The high-power TWT with the forced air-cooling collector system is tested,and the test results verify the feasibility of this heat transfer scheme.关键词
