Roles of SIRT1/PGC-1α signaling pathway in development and progression of diabetic cardiomyopathy:a review
摘要
Abstract
Diabetic cardiomyopathy(DCM)is a diabetes-specific cardiac complication character-ized by myocardial metabolic dysfunction and progressive cardiac dysfunction.Recent studies have found that the signaling pathway formed by silent information regulator 1(SIRT1)and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ coactivator 1 α(PGC-1α)plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of DCM.This review examines the molecular architecture of the SIRT1/PGC-1α signaling pathway in general and its involvement in DCM progression by regulating mitochondrial quality control,oxidative stress balance,and energy metabolism reprogramming in particular.This article also evaluates natural bioac-tive compounds,chemically synthesized drugs,gene therapies,and other intervention strategies targeting this pathway in the hope of providing a new line of thought and potential therapeutic targets for DCM prevention and treatment.关键词
