Abstract

In order to achieve efficient and precise rock fragmentation,and to address the shortcomings of traditio-nal shaped charge jets in circumferential rock breaking,the feasibility of annular shaped charge jets for rock fragmentation was studied through numerical simulation.Based on LS-DYNA software,a multi-material coupling model of explosive-shaped ring-air-target plate was established,and the reliability of the model was verified by experimental results.Further-more,the influences of material,angle,and charging structure of the shaped ring on penetration performances was syste-matically analyzed.The results indicate that copper shaped charge rings have a high density and an excellent ductility,and exhibits optimal performance in both hole formation and penetration duration.The angle of the shaped ring significantly affects penetration performances,with the maximum penetration depth at an angle of 75°.When the angle is 90°,the ope-ning width is the largest.But at an angle of 60°,a better comprehensive effect can be achieved between pore quality and penetration depth.Under the coupling charging,the energy of the jet is concentrated in the axial direction,which is benefi-cial for increasing the penetration depth.A decoupling charging allows the jet to fully stretch,resulting in a tip with high velocity and low mass.Although it reduces the penetration depth,the opening width is slightly increased.It has been con-firmed that optimizing the material and angle of the annular shaped ring,as well as designing a reasonable charge structure,can effectively improve the rock breaking of the annular shaped cutter.
