The Evolution of Entering Tone Rhymes in the Yancheng Dialect over the Past Century:A Review of Cai Huaxiang's Xu's Phonetic Vocabulary:Yancheng Dialect a Century Ago
摘要
Abstract
The Yancheng dialect belongs to the Hongchao division of Jianghuai Mandarin.Located at the transitional zone between the Hongchao and Tairu divisions,it exhibits many features characteristic of the Tairu dialect.This paper first provides an overview of the Yancheng dialect and relevant studies.It then critically reviews the content and academic value of Xu's Phonetic Vocabulary:Yancheng Dialect a Century Ago.Finally,the paper explores the phonetic evolution of the Yancheng dialect over the past century,specifically from the perspective of the divergence and convergence of entering tone rhymes.关键词
