Transient Synchronization Stability Control for Parallel-connected Grid-forming Converter System Accounting for Virtual Torque Balance

Abstract
During grid fault disturbances,the dynamic interaction effects within a parallel-connected grid-forming(GFM)converter system become significantly pronounced,elevating the risk of transient synchronization instability.In this paper,a transient interaction model for the parallel-connected GFM converter system is developed,and the under-lying mechanism of transient power-angle instability triggered by the imbalance between the input and output torque in GFM converters under transient energy interactions is determined.On this basis,an enhanced transient synchronization stability control strategy for the parallel-connected GFM converter system is proposed by taking into account the tran-sient virtual torque balance,and the torque balance is realized by modifying the transient virtual torque of the parallel system through the transient angular speed difference between GFM converters.Furthermore,a Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is employed to construct an energy function for the parallel-connected GFM converter system,and the variations in the region of attraction under changes in critical parameters and those before and after implementing the proposed en-hanced transient synchronization stability control strategy are analyzed.The correctness and effectiveness of the pro-posed control strategy were validated through simulations and tests on a hardware-in-the-loop experimental platform.关键词
