Efficient Real-time FPGA-based Simulation Method for Active Distribution Networks
摘要
Abstract
With the large-scale integration of distributed generations(e.g.,PV and wind turbines),energy storage equipment and power electronic devices,the real-time simulation of active distribution networks suffers from high com-putational complexity and low speed.Aimed at this problem,an efficient field-programmable gate array(FPGA)-based real-time simulation method for active distribution networks is proposed in this paper.First,the coupled computations between nodes and branches which are inherent in the conventional nodal analysis method are eliminated,and the cal-culations independent of the simulation step size are pre-processed off-line,thus reducing the complexity in real-time simulation.On this basis,a fine-grained and parallel real-time simulation architecture based on FPGA is designed,and the hardware design for core modules including a global control module,a history update module and an electrical-vari-able update module is put forward.Finally,the real-time simulation of a distribution network containing detailed PV power generation units is realized with a simulation step size of 4 μs.A comparison with PSCAD/EMTDC and the con-ventional hardware design verify the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed simulation method and hardware design.关键词
