Design of an independent measurement system for fuel mass loss in physically coupled oil pool group fires

Abstract
As critical facilities in national energy reserves,the fire prevention and control of industrial tank areas is highly related to strategic security.The unique coupled burning characteristics of multiple oil pools in tank group fires significantly increase disaster risks.For oil pool group fires,there are not only differences in combustion area and liquid level height among different oil pools,but also complex physical spatial coupling.Traditional measurement methods are difficult to achieve independent measurement for the mass loss rate of each individual pool in group fire scenarios.To address this issue,an independent measurement system for fuel mass loss in physically coupled oil pool group fires was designed.By measuring liquid mass changes in a communicating vessel and establishing hydraulic balance and mass conservation equations,the problem of independently measuring the mass loss rate in oil pool groups under physical coupling effects was systematically solved.The experiments show that the system achieves independent measurement of mass loss rates for each oil pool with high accuracy and repeatability,providing critical data support for outward radiation studies and model development in coupled oil pool group fires.关键词
