Abstract

To enhance the mechanical properties of GIS/GIL epoxy insulating materials,we prepared a composite epoxy resin with a biomimetic honeycomb metamaterial skeleton structure,drawing inspiration from biomimetic metamaterials in nature and introducing the concept of metamaterials into the preparation of high-voltage insulating epoxy composite epoxy composites for the first time.Three typical honeycomb cell configurations(regular hexagon,regular quadrilateral,and regular triangle)were designed and comparatively optimized to identify the optimal scaffold configuration.Subse-quently,biomimetic honeycomb metamaterial composite epoxy resin was prepared using a combination of 3D printing and resin infusion technology.The research results indicate that the hexagonal structure of the metamaterial can maintain its support function for the overall structure under significant deformation,with the highest in-plane/out-of-plane com-pressive ultimate strengths of approximately 2.77 MPa and 7.51 MPa,respectively.The dual-curing resin matrix and preparation method are used to ensure good interface bonding between the poured thermosetting resin and the skeleton.The bending strength and tensile strength of the biomimetic honeycomb metamaterial composite epoxy resin reach max-imum values of up to 99 MPa and 95.5 MPa,respectively,representing increases of approximately 57.6%and 27.6%compared to pure resin,with a 29.2%improvement in elongation at break.It is demonstrated that biomimetic skeletons enable stress transfer and enhance the mechanical performance through optimized load-path design.In addition,the pre-pared metamaterial composite epoxy resin has a certain insulation and heat resistance properties,providing new ideas and directions for regulating the performance of high-voltage power equipment,especially GIS/GIL.
