Discussion of Professor Zhang Youmin on the Tonifying Methods of the Five Viscera from the Perspective of Prescriptions for Deficiency Annual Movements in Sanyin Sitian Fang

Abstract
In Sanyin Sitian Fang,there are five prescriptions for cases of insufficient annual heavenly circulation.They are Ziwan decoction for the year of six Yi,which is formulated for insufficient metal qi and lung deficiency,Congrong Niuxi decoction for the year of six Ding for insufficient wood qi and liver deficiency,Baizhu Houpo decoction for the year of six Ji for insufficient earth qi and spleen deficiency,Wuweizi decoction for the year of six Xin for insufficient water qi and kidney deficiency,and Huangqi Fushen decoction for the year of six Gui for insufficient fire qi and heart deficiency.By analyzing the formulation characteristics of these five prescriptions,Professor Zhang Youmin summarized the underlying medicinal principles for tonifying the five zang-organs are strengthening the visceral body,assisting visceral function,tonifying the mother zang-organ,eliminating turbidity,supporting the dominating zang-organ,and restraining the non-dominating one.关键词
