Estimation of Carbon Stock for Mangrove Ecosystems in Guang-dong and Analysis of Its Influencing Factors
摘要
Abstract
Guangdong is the province with the largest area of mangroves in China, and its mangrove carbon stock has significant implications for mangrove management and policy-making in China. This study com-bined field survey data, published literature data, and the data from the Third National Land Survey to esti-mate the carbon stock of the mangrove ecosystems in Guangdong, and analyzed the influencing factors. The results indicated that the total carbon stock of mangrove ecosystems in Guangdong was 2 845.99 kt C,in which vegetation carbon stock(940.10 kt C)accounted for 33.03%,while the soil carbon stock was 1 905.89 kt C,accounting for 66.97%.The carbon stock was mainly concentrated in the cities with a large area of man-groves,such as Zhanjiang,Jiangmen,Yangjiang, and Zhuhai. The average carbon density of mangrove ecosys-tems in Guangdong was 291.53 t C/hm2,which was lower than that in Hainan at a lower latitude and the global average value, but higher than that in Guangxi,Zhejiang, and Fujian. In addition, there were significant differences in soil carbon density among various mangrove communities in Guangdong, and the soil carbon stock showed the trend of Rhizophora stylosa+Bruguiera gymnorhiza>Sonneratia apetala>Avicennia marina>B.gymnorhiza>Kandelia obovata>Aegiceras corniculatum.Overall, the mangrove ecosystems have a high carbon storage capacity and increasing the mangrove area can significantly promote the growth of mangrove carbon stock. The study result can provide key background data and measurement parameters for carbon accounting in Guangdong, and serve the compilation of greenhouse gas inventories and the decomposi-tion of the carbon neutrality goal.关键词
