Abstract

The organic-inorganic hybrid manganese(II)halide(tBTP)2MnBr4(tBTPBr,isobutyltriphenylphosphonium bromide)has been successfully prepared by solvent evaporation method in this paper.The crystal structure reveals that the[MnBr4]2-tetrahedra are surrounded by two cations,thus forming a zero-dimensional structure.We successfully prepare the amorphous glass of(tBTP)2MnBr4 using a simple melt-quenching method due to the low melting point of the crystal at 164.5℃.The optical physical property characterization shows that the excitation spectra and emission spectra of the crystal and glass are highly similar,suggesting that they may have similar luminescence mechanisms.Further luminescence kinetics tests confirm that the luminescence of the crystalline and amorphous glass originates from the relaxation of the same excited state.In the scintillation performance test,the light yield of the crystal sample exceeds 22300 photons/MeV,and that of the glass sample reaches 7742 photons/MeV.X-ray imaging experiments demonstrate that the(tBTP)2MnBr4 glass could clearly display the internal circuits of the chip,showing its application potential in the field of X-ray imaging.
