Tunable Luminescence and Energy Transfer of Li8CaLa2Ta2O13:Sm3+Phosphors

Abstract
A novel tantalate phosphor with a garnet-like structure,Li8CaLa2(1-x)Ta2O13:xSm3+(LCLTO:xSm3+),was synthesized via a high-temperature solid-state reaction.The crystal structures were confirmed by XRD and EDS,and the luminescence properties of the synthesized samples were investigated using fluorescence spectroscopy.The results revealed that under 234 nm excitation,an energy transfer process existed from the host to Sm3+ion,which allows for tunable color emission from blue to pink by regulating the doping concentration of Sm3+ions.The optimal sample of LCLTO:0.06Sm3+exhibited orange-red light with the highest emission peak at 614 nm(4G5/2→6H7/2)when excited at 406 nm,which is anticipated to be utilized for near-UV excited white LED.关键词
