Intertwining of Revolutionary Sentiment and Vernacular Affection
摘要
Abstract
Beyond his renown as a novelist,Zhao Shuli's underexplored artistic legacy resides in his theatrical endeavors.His interwoven identities as writer-activist,pragmatic ethos,and worldly outlook shaped a unique dramatic-political vision.From The Myriad Phenomena Building(Wanxiang Lou)to The Ten-Mile Inn(Shilidian),Zhao repeatedly adjusted the lyrical mode of his dramas,where revolutionary zeal,popular aspirations,and the author's private sentiments collided within the theatrical world.The Ten Li Inn—a pivotal work distinct from The White-Haired Girl,epitomizes his lyrical dramaturgy through three dimensions:complex mobilizationof lyrical resources within revolutionary propaganda constraints,flexible appropriation of folk traditions to forge new lyrical pathways,and revealing artistic dilemmas amid conflicting creative and political demands.This trinity reflects Zhao's struggle to negotiate leftist aesthetics with grass-roots authenticity during his mid-career evolution.Examining these mechanisms not only illuminates lyrical bottlenecks in contemporary literary drama but offers vital insights for adapting mass-oriented art in the digi-tal era.关键词
