摘要

Abstract

There are lack of existing studies of comprehensive analysis of energy efficiency indexes for the reduc-tion of greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions in the international shipping industry.In this article,the correlation be-tween technical and operational energy efficiencies has been studied based on the energy efficiency rules and as-sessment requirements of the International Maritime Organization(IMO),and a method is established for compre-hensive evaluation of ship energy efficiency.On the basis of the data from over a thousand ships,an analysis of the Energy Efficiency Design Index(EEDI)and the operational Carbon Intensity Index(CII)is carried out,and then based on that,technical and operational energy efficiencies are analysed.The results show that the operational CII is directly proportional to the EEDI of the ship itself,and ships with better technical energy efficiency also exhibit better operational energy efficiency under the same or similar conditions of sea states,routes etc.The research re-sults provide a reference for the comprehensive evaluation of decarbonisation,reduction in emission and energy effi-ciency of ships.
