Abstract

To investigate the existence conditions and parametric laws of self-stable tensegrity basic units with equal internal forces in all cable members,the functional relationships among the unit radius,height,bar number,and auxiliary configuration parameter were systematically analyzed based on geometric and fractal parameters.Taking the nodes of the tensegrity basic unit as the research object,the analytical expressions satisfying the condition that all cable internal forces are equal are derived by using the force density method and the node force equilibrium method,respectively.Their correctness was verified through comparison,and the value ranges of each parameter were clarified.Furthermore,the variation trends of the height-radius ratio,member lengths,and internal forces under dif-ferent bar numbers p and auxiliary configuration parameters j were analyzed.It was found that as j approaches p/2,the structure tends to become'slender and tall',and the internal forces in the bars and cables gradually converge.Eight configurations of the tensegrity basic unit satisfying the condition are listed,and physical models of two configu-rations were constructed,validating the theoretical results.This study provides an important theoretical basis and a parametric design method for the equal-strength design of tensegrity structures in fields such as deployable structures.
