Study on the residence time distribution characteristics of the TPMS-Diamond static mixer

Abstract
TPMS-Diamond static mixers with different structures were designed and fabricated.The residence time distribution within the TPMS-Diamond structure was measured using the pulse tracing method,and the effects of different structures and operating conditions on flow behavior were investigated.Experiments demonstrated that reducing the unit size and pore ratio decreased the dimensionless variance and suppressed axial diffusion.Increasing flow rate narrowed the residence time distribution,with flow tending toward ideal piston flow.Simultaneously,structural variations exerted a discernible influence on the average residence time.By analyzing the number of stages in series reactors and the Peclet number,the phenomenon of backmixing within the reactor was investigated.Combined with experimental data,a dimensionless analysis was conducted to establish predictive formulas,further elucidating the relationship between flow characteristics and structural parameters.This will contribute to a deeper understanding of the extent to which the TPMS-Diamond static mixer deviates from an ideal reactor and exhibits backmixing,providing theoretical support for reactor structure design and optimization.关键词
