Welding life evaluation of liquid rocket engine pipeline under random vibration

Abstract
Pipes are one of the three components with higher failure rates in liquid rocket engines.The design,evaluation,and verification of pipeline vibration fatigue life represent a common fundamental problem which needs to be studied and solved urgently in engine structural design.Aiming at the quantified fatigue life assessment of welds in the fuel supply pipeline of a specific liquid rocket engine gas generator,a comprehensive assessment methodology for pipeline structural fatigue life under random vibration loads has been established.This methodology mainly includes analysis technology for time-varying vibration loads,inversion technology for gas pressure pulsation loads in combustor components,characterization of fatigue life curves for welds under random vibration conditions,evaluation of vibration fatigue life for pipeline weld structures,and so on.The results indicate that the predicted service life of pipeline welds under random vibration conditions obtained by the proposed method is in good agreement with the actual service life observed under engine operating conditions.The research approach provides reference value for areas such as dynamic analysis of engine structures under complex excitation loads,load inversion,and prediction/verification of vibration fatigue life.关键词
