Schottky Junction Photocatalytic System Based on Metal Sulfides

Abstract
To enhance the efficiency of visible-light-driven photocatalytic hydrogen evolution,a Schottky junc-tion photocatalytic system based on CdMnS and Co9S8 was constructed.By adjusting the loading amount of Co9S8,CdMnS/Co9S8 composite catalysts were successfully prepared,and their crystal structures,morpho-logical characteristics,photoelectrochemical properties,and hydrogen evolution performance were systemati-cally investigated.The results showed that a stable Schottky junction was formed at the CdMnS/Co9S8 inter-face,by which light absorption capacity was significantly enhanced and the separation and migration of photo-generated charge carriers were promoted.A hydrogen evolution rate of 9.96 mmol·(g·h)-1 was achieved by the optimal catalyst MS3,which was approximately 2.9 times than that of CdMnS,and excellent cyclic stabili-ty was demonstrated.Photogenerated electrons were driven to migrate from CdMnS to Co9S8 by the built-in electric field generated at the Schottky junction interface.Consequently,charge carrier recombination was sup-pressed,and photocatalytic hydrogen evolution efficiency was improved.关键词
