Clinical effect of probiotics combined with Drospirenone and Ethinylestra-diol Tablets in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of probiotics combined with Drospirenone and Ethinylestradiol Tablets in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods A total of 78 patients with PCOS admitted to First Affiliated Hospital of Gannan Medical University from June 2023 to June 2024 were selected as study objects,and they were divided into experimental group(39 cases)and control group(39 cases)by the random number table method.The experimental group received oral Drospirenone and Ethinylestradiol Tablets plus compound probiotics,while the control group received Drospirenone and Ethinylestradiol Tablets alone.The treatment lasted for 3 menstrual cycles.Menstrual cycle recovery rate,symptom recurrence rate at 6 months post-treatment,sex hormone levels,metabolic parameters,inflammatory factor levels,and safety were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,serum testosterone(T),the luteinizing hormone/follicle-stimulating hormone ratio(LH/FSH),the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),triglycerides(TG),and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)in the experimental group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).After the treatment,the levels of luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting insulin(FINS),total cholesterol(TC),and interleukin-6(IL-6)in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group,while the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)was higher than that in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).At the 6-month follow-up,the symptom recurrence rate in the experimental group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Probiotics combined with Drospirenone and Ethinylestradiol Tablets can synergistically improve the endocrine and metabolic disorders as well as the inflammatory state in patients with PCOS.The clinical effect is superior to that of single drug treatment,and the safety is also good.关键词
