Clinical efficacy of renowned traditional Chinese medicine practitioner experienced prescription Quanchong Powder combined with Mecobalamin in the treatment of blood stasis type lumbar disc herniation

Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of the renowned traditional Chinese medicine practitioner experienced prescription Quanchong Powder combined with Mecobalamin in the treatment of blood stasis type lumbar disc herniation,as well as its impact on the serum inflammatory factors of patients.Methods A total of 80 patients with blood stasis type lumbar disc herniation admitted to the Department of Outpatient of Orthopedics of Shanghai Jiading District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Shanghai from October 2024 to July 2025 were selected as the research subjects,they were divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method,with 40 cases in each group,five cases were lost to follow-up,ultimately,there were 38 cases in the study group,37 cases in the control group.The control group was treated with oral Mecobalamin,while the study group was treated with the renowned traditional Chinese medicine practitioner experienced prescription Quanchong Powder combined with oral Mecobalamin.A total of 30 days constituted one treatment course,and the treatment lasted for one course.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated,and the visual analogue scale(VAS)scores,numbness scores,Oswestry disability index(ODI),alanine transaminase(ALT),aspartate transaminase(AST),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),creatinine(Cr),C-reactive protein(CRP),and interleukin-8(IL-8)of the two groups before and after treatment were compared.Results The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in ALT,AST,BUN and Cr between the two groups before and after treatment(P＞0.05).After treatment,the CRP and IL-8 of both groups were lower than those before treatment,and the CRP and IL-8 of the study group were lower than those of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).After treat-ment,the VAS scores of both groups were lower than those before treatment,the numbness scores were better than those before treatment,the ODI scores were higher than those before treatment,and the VAS score of the study group was lower than that of the control group,the numbness score was better than that of the control group,and the ODI score was higher than that of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).Conclusion The renowned traditional Chi-nese medicine practitioner experienced prescription Quanchong Powder for treating blood stasis type lumbar disc herniation has significant clinical efficacy in improving limb pain and numbness,is safe to take,and can reduce the inflammatory factors levels in patients.关键词
