Abstract

In order to clarify the dormancy type of blueberry seeds and screen the best dormancy breaking method,this experiment used blueberry seeds as materials to determine their morphological characteristics,water absorption characteristics and endogenous inhibitor activity,and then explored their dormancy characteristics.Four-factor and four-level orthogonal test design was used to screen different dormancy breaking treatments to determine the best combination of dormancy release.The results showed that the seed of blueberry was a typical dicotyledonous plant seed shape,which was long oval,and the seed surface showed a network central concave structure.Blueberry seeds have strong water permeability,indicating that their seed coats do not have the characteristics of physical dormancy.The extract of blueberry seeds had obvious inhibitory effect on the germination of Chinese cabbage seeds,the germination rate decreased and the root growth was blocked,which confirmed that it contained endogenous germination inhibitors,resulting in dormancy of blueberry seeds.The ef-fects of four factors on the germination of blueberry seeds were:the number of days after pollination>GA3 concentration>stratification time>soaking time.The seeds collected after 65 days of pollina-tion,GA3 concentration of 400 mg/L,seed soaking for 6 h,and stratification for 80 days were the opti-mal method for breaking dormancy.
