Abstract
Focusing on the Beimen(North Gate)Historical and Cultural District in Xinghua City,Jiangsu Province, this paper employs a typo-morphological approach, integrated with historical document analysis and on-site measurement.Commencing with an examination of the regional context and the district's overall layout,it analyzes the characteristics and distribution patterns of morphological units at various scales, specifically through the lenses of building typology, block and plot patterns, and the current state of preservation. The study elucidates the evolutionary trajectory of the Beimen Historical and Cultural District, tracing its progression from organic, mixed commercial-residential growth during the Ming and Qing dynasties, through partial modern-era renewals,to contemporary boundary expansions and textural changes. This research aims to establish a multi-scale analytical framework for discerning the historical character of heritage areas in the Jianghuai region, thereby offering a methodological reference for the spatial understanding of similar built heritage.关键词
