Abstract

The exploration plogram at the super-large Jiada lithium deposit in Sichuan completed the exploration of Lines 0-80 in just over a year,attaining super-large scale and passing the review and filing by the Ministry of Nat-ural Resources in June 2025.The prospecting breakthrough of this deposit was not achieved overnight within a year,but a concrete manifestation of long-term theoretical guidance for practice—especially the consistent imple-mentation of the mineralization system theory centered on mineralization series.Firstly,the mineralization series of pegmatite-type lithium deposits was fully defined,and regarded as the basic unit for constructing the lithium mineralization system,this series has played a fundamental guiding role in the national lithium prospecting de-ployment.Secondly,mineralization belts were taken as the carrier of the lithium mineralization system,with the West Kunlun-Songpan-Garze orogenic belt being identified as the key work area.Relying on various projects,a new full-chain prospecting breakthrough idea of"Theory-Investigation-Breakthrough-Base"was formed.Focus-ing on the eastern ore concentration area of the"Asian Lithium Belt"in the West Kunlun-Songpan-Garze region,after achieving prospecting breakthroughs through"prospecting around existing deposits"in the old Jiajika min-ing area,the Jiada prospect area was delineated in the blank eastern area of the Ke'eryin based on the concept of"omnidirectional metallogenesis+vacant-position prospecting".Through greenfield surveys,it was integrated with Dangba to form the Jiada-Dangba lithium ore field.The eight-step potential evaluation method was applied,and combined with the"five-story building+basement layer-vein assemblage"exploration model.Based on the magmatic-thermal dome structural setting and anticline structural characteristics of the Jiada area,the coupling re-lationship between vein-type and layered orebodies was clarified to guide the positioning prediction of concealed orebodies.Adhering to the basic positioning that geophysical and geochemical anomalies are both manifestations of mineralization and components of the mineralization system,high-density electrical method was combined with lithium isotope technology as the basis for delineating pegmatite-type lithium orebodies and deploying ex-ploration work.Drilling operations were promptly optimized and adjusted,advancing the deposit scale from a projected large-sized category to a super-large-sized one.The discovery of the super-large Jiada lithium deposit is a typical case of the integrated application of mineralization system theory and new technologies/methods.The Li2O resources in the depost area are expected to reach the million-ton scale,providing important theoretical and practical reference value for China's new round of Prospecting Breakthrough Strategic Action.
