Effect of fabric weave on cut resistance of wrapped yarn fabric

Abstract
The influence of fabric weave on the tensile and cut resistant property of composite wrapped yarn fabrics was investigated.Wrapped yarn with two types of structures(wrapped yarn A and wrapped yarn B)were prepared by UHMWPE filament,stainless steel filament and PA filament.Single yarn fabrics with plain,twill and basket weave,as well as double yarn plain weave fabrics interwoven by two types of wrapped yarns at different arrangement ratios(1∶1,2∶1,3∶1),were woven.Tensile strength and cut resistant property of the fabrics were systematically measured.The results showed that under the condition of the same mass per unit area,the tensile strength of single yarn fabrics was ranked as plain A>basket>twill,while the cut resistant property were ranked as twill>plain A>basket.Except for the basket weave fabric,cut resistant grades of the other fabrics were all reached A5 grade.For double yarn fabrics,as the proportion of low-strength wrapped yarn A increased,both tensile strength and cut resistant property of the fabrics were decreased,but they were still higher than those of single yarn fabrics.It is believed that through optimizing the yarn arrangement and weave,cut resistant property of the protective fabrics can be effectively enhanced,providing an important basis for the design of high-performance cut resistant materials.关键词
