The influence of pilot strategy coupled with EGR on the combustion and emission performance of hydrogen/diesel dual fuel diesel engine

Abstract
The effects of hydrogen alternative ratio and pilot injection strategy coupled with EGR on engine performances were studied on a modified hydrogen/diesel dual fuel engine.The results show that under the operating condition of 1 500 r/min engine speed and 50%engine load,cylinder pressure,heat release rate and NOx emission were increased with the increase of hydrogen ratio,while the SOOT emission was decreased with the hydrogen/diesel dual fuel mode.Advancing pilot injection timing and increasing pilot injection quantity can effectively reduce SOOT emissions yet elevate NOx emissions.On the basis of pilot injection strategy,increasing the EGR rate from 22%to 32%,SOOT emissions gradually increase,while NOx emissions are significantly reduced.Under the test condition,the hydrogen/diesel dual fuel engine shows an excellent trade-off relation between NOx and SOOT emissions under the coupled configuration at a hydrogen substitution ratio of 6%,pilot injection timing of-27℃ A,pilot quantity of 4.6 mg and EGR rate is 27%.关键词
