摘要

Abstract

Lakes inherently attract human activity.Elucidating the multi-scale influence of the urban built environment on waterfront spatial vitality is fundamental to the rational utilization and conservation of urban lake resources within integrated city-lake development frameworks.Research consistently reveals clustered vitality patterns along lake shores.A deeper investigation into the impact mechanisms governing these spatial vitality clusters in urban lakes is essential for leveraging high-attraction nodes and confronting the paradox of underutilized waterfront spaces despite significant investment—hindering the realization of"lakes within cities, people by the water"in specific locales.Wuhan, emblematic as China's"City of a Hundred Lakes",possesses abundant and advantageous lake resources.East Lake stands as a paramount exemplar of an urban lake, showcasing Chinese grandeur,Chu-style characteristics, and Wuhan's distinct identity. This study employs 4 430 tourist GPS trajectories alongside multi-source geographic data for Wuhan's East Lake Scenic Area.Utilizing spatial autocorrelation analysis and Multiscale Geographically Weighted Regression(MGWR),the study constructed a composite indicator system encompassing"functional diversity","accessibility experience",and"place quality",incorporating 21 detailed environmental variables. This framework enabled investigation into the influence characteristics and spatial effects of environmental factors on urban lake vitality using optimal spatial regression modeling.Key findings reveal distinct spatio-temporal patterns of vitality within East Lake.Spatially, vitality manifests a geographical structure characterized by a dominant core, multiple subsidiary cores, and ribbon-like extension.High-high clustering is prominent near Lakeside Route and Lake-and-Mountain Route, contrasting with low-low clustering in the central lake area;significant aggregation positions gradually formed the lake's spatial core zones, exhibiting a pattern of one dominant nucleus with multiple coexisting cores.Notably, scenic roads adjoining open water, bridge structures, and rural ponds exhibited pronounced public preference.Temporally, weekend vitality exhibited broader ribbon-like expansion compared to weekdays, indicating more widespread cross-regional public movement during rest days.Vitality peaks occurred in summer and autumn, with autumn displaying the most extensive high-vitality zones.Winter high-vitality patterns differed significantly from spring and summer.Regarding impact effects,MGWR demonstrated significantly superior performance compared to both Ordinary Least Squares(OLS)regression and classic Geographically Weighted Regression(GWR)across all parameters. The spatial distribution of MGWR coefficients revealed differential influences across indicator categories:impacts from functional diversity factors remained relatively stable;accessibility experience factors exhibited the broadest spatial scale of effect;place quality factors demonstrated the strongest overall magnitude of influence.Core environmental elements affecting waterfront vitality encompass shoreline openness, forest coverage ratio, road network density, and green space ratio.Public service density, road network density, forest coverage ratio, and parking convenience showed positive correlations with spatial vitality, whereas maximum building height and proximity to subway/bus stations exhibited negative correlations.Based on the distinctive scenic resources across service zones, three principal recommendations emerge.Firstly,a functional shift from quantitative expansion towards quality-and-efficiency-oriented development is imperative. This necessitates fully harnessing Wuhan's cultural and natural heritage to transform resource abundance into high-caliber outcomes.Secondly, enhancing synergistic benefits between the lake and adjacent urban areas by optimizing destination accessibility and en-route landscape experience is crucial.Leveraging complementary resources according to zone-specific characteristics and target positioning can amplify the influence of high-vitality zones and improve the utility and connectivity of scenic corridors.Thirdly, implementing eco-aesthetic practices to elevate place quality is vital.Rationalizing the spatial layout of natural and cultural elements, while prioritizing the interdependence between facilities,blue-green spaces, and cultural assets, fosters vibrant, organized natural outdoor spaces conducive to human-nature symbiosis.Furthermore, tailored optimization pathways were developed for two critical interface zones. For the urban-lake interface, optimization should prioritize increasing public service density and critically evaluating the supply-demand efficiency of resources—such as science-education,culture,sports,and leisure—across high and low vitality areas to prevent service surplus or deficit, particularly in negatively correlated zones.Strategic focus should be directed towards enhancing Hubin Road's role as a pivotal ecological wedge-ring within the citywide greenway structure, upgrading the quality of peripheral attractions, strengthening the transition towards quality-and-efficiency,and improving the accessibility and visual quality of blue-green spaces. For the urban-lake-mountain interface, strategies must leverage superior road infrastructure to coordinate synergistic development and radiating influence with other zones.Advancing spatial development near mountain forest roads, amplifying the positive potential of green spaces, and strategically utilizing currently underdeveloped forest, green space, and shoreline resources through targeted spatial adjustments are key priorities. In conclusion,multi-source data presents unprecedented opportunities for granular measurement of urban lake spatial vitality and its impact mechanisms. As quintessential spaces for harmonious human-nature interaction, urban lakes'inherent advantages constitute fundamental recreational assets, where their multifunctional characteristics catalyze regional vitality by fulfilling diverse visitor needs. The methodological cornerstone of this study lies in effectively mediating complex built environment elements while scientifically acquiring and operationalizing vitality metrics.By integrating active mobility trajectory data with comprehensive urban geographic datasets, this research establishes an analytical framework for spatial vitality measurement using Wuhan's East Lake Scenic Area as a paradigm case.
