Research Progress on Design of Novel Antimicrobial Peptides and Their Application in Livestock and Poultry Production
摘要
Abstract
Antimicrobial peptides(AMPs)are compact peptide molecules found in nature,featuring broad-spectrum antibacterial activity and low drug resistance.They are regarded as ideal substitutes for antibiotics in animal husbandry.Designing new AMPs can address the issues of high production costs,high toxicity,and low stability of natural AMPs,and can enhance the growth performance,immune function,and intestinal flora balance of livestock and poultry in animal husbandry,presenting great potential and application pros-pects.This article mainly reviews the sources of natural AMPs,the methods for designing new AMPs,and the research progress of their application in animal husbandry,providing a reference for the research and application of AMPs as feed additives in animal husbandry.关键词
