Abstract

The PV module welding material is the main component for achieving electrical and mechanical connections inside the PV modules.The coating,size,structure,mechanical and electrical properties of the welding material directly affect the electrical performance and reliability of the PV modules.This paper first introduces the development and research status of PV module welding materials,then analyzes the technical requirements of PV module welding materials,and looks forward to the development direction of PV module welding materials.The analysis results show that:1)For flat PV module welding materials,their contact effect with the main grid line of the solar cell is good,and they are easy to align during the welding process.The probability of deviation between the PV module welding materials and the main grid line of the solar cell is small.But it causes a lot of shading loss and a large distance between solar cells.2)For the circular PV module welding material,it reduces the shading loss,but the area of the intermediate alloy layer formed during the welding process is small,and the probability of deviation between the PV module welding material and the main grid line of the solar cell is high,and the contact resistance of the solar cell is also high.3)For triangular PV module welding materials,they can not only reduce optical losses during the packaging process of PV modules,but also form a good alloy layer with the main grid line of solar cells.However,due to its unique shape,it is difficult to place the welding material during welding.4)Developing copper aluminum composite welding materials,reducing welding material costs,and improving welding reliability are important directions for the future development of PV module welding materials.
