Abstract
As an outstanding historical novel,Romance of the Three Kingdoms possesses not only grand epic qualities but also profound tragic undertones.The most significant source of its tragic essence lies in its historical portrayal of Three Kingdoms in the late Han Dynasty,which vividly reveals the perennial tragic predicament of"goodness"in human history.This tragic implication elevates the ideological depth and artistic achievement of Romance of the Three Kingdoms,far surpassing other historical novels in Chinese literary history.Examining the novel's depiction of the plight of"goodness"allows readers to gain a deeper understanding and reflection on the complexity of human nature and the shadows of history.关键词
