Experimental Applications of Nanomaterials in Animal Osteoarthritis Treatment

Abstract
Osteoarthritis is a primary cause of pain and functional impairment in middle-aged and elderly animals.Osteoarthritis not only reduces animal productivity but also impacts quality of life and animal welfare,resulting in significant economic losses.Traditional drug therapies suffer from limitations such as poor drug targeting,short retention time,low bioavailability,and significant toxic side effects.In recent years,with the continuous advancement of nanomedicine delivery technology,intra-articular injection of nanomaterials has overcome the barriers and rapid clearance of conventional drugs within joints.This approach enables long-lasting,targeted,and highly efficient drug delivery,offering innovative strategies for osteoarthritis treatment.This paper comprehensively reviews and systematically summarizes experiment application progress on the use of nanomaterials in intra-articular injections for the treatment of osteoarthritis,focusing on potential mechanisms for targeted drug delivery and retention,promoting regenerative repair,and achieving anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.Exploring the application prospects of nanomedicine provides a theoretical foundation for innovative treatment strategies in animal osteoarthritis and future nanomaterial design and pharmacology research.关键词
