Historical Analysis and Research Value of Chinese Plaques and Couplets at the Bodui Dzong in Qing Dynasty Xizang
摘要
Abstract
Bodui(present-day Bomi County,Linzhi)came under renewed Qing administrative control in 1900,when the Imperial Resident Yugang established an administrative structure and stationed officials there.Yugang inscribed a Chinese plaque reading"Qingfeng Yuanbei"(Benevolent Gov-ernance Far Reaching)and a couplet at the dzong government office in Qingduo, documenting the local topography, territorial boundaries, cultural conditions, and the process of pacification-constituting significant evidence of the Qing central government's exercise of sovereignty over Bomi. These inscriptions were recorded in detail by journalist Jing Jiadong, who accompanied the PLA's 154th Regiment into Xizang in October 1950,in his diary"March into Xizang".Al-though destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, restored photographs are preserved at the Xizang Museum. The inscriptions hold considerable documentary value for research on Qing governance of Bodui.关键词
