"Differentiated Regional Support Policies":A Major Breakthrough in Ethnic Affairs Gov-ernance in the New Era

Abstract
"Differentiated ethnic support policies"served an important historical function in addressing China's ethnic affairs governance needs,but their limitations have become increasingly apparent as the country enters a new stage of national rejuvenation and high-quality development in ethnic minority regions.Xi Jinping's directive to"improve differentiated regional support poli-cies"signals a significant policy reorientation.The shift from ethnicity-based to region-based differentiation subsumes particularistic"ethnic development"under a holistic"regional develop-ment"framework,integrates diverse ethnic identities within a unified civic identity,and funda-mentally corrects the distortions inherent in the previous policy.This transition dissolves ethnic identity barriers,reduces particularism,enhances commonality,and achieves a higher level of eth-nic solidarity-thereby fostering the healthy development of the Chinese national community.关键词
