Abstract
Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)injections played an important role in the healthcare system of the People's Republic of China.This paper reveals that the first TCM injection,the Bupleurum injection was invented within the historical context of the 20th century,where modern medicine,botany,pharmacology,and TCM intersected.The research and development of the injection originated from application and innovation of administration methods by the Chinese Communist Red Army in the Taihang Mountain Base Area.During the initial years of the founding of the People's Republic of China,large-scale industrial production of Bupleurum injections was realized.During the 1960s to the 1970s,the variety of TCM injections has expanded rapidly,and their clinical use has become widespread.Since the 1980s,medical events associated with TCM injections have driven continuous optimization and improvement of these preparations.The invention and development of TCM injections not only reflect the scientification and modernization trends of TCM in the 20th century,but also reveal the profound impact of the Red Army and its base area's medical traditions on the development of TCM.关键词
