摘要

Abstract

Litter moisture content is a key indicator of surface hydrological processes in forest ecosystems.Long-term monitoring of litter moisture content is essential for understanding temporal changes in forest floor water-retention capacity and for evaluating forest hydrological processes and water conservation functions.Subtropical forests,as an important forest type in China,play significant ecological roles in global climate regulation and biodiversity conservation.The Ailao Mountains in Yunnan,a representative subtropical forest region,are characterized by rich biodiversity and strong water conservation capacity.Continuous,high-quality ecological monitoring is one of the core missions of the Chinese Ecosystem Research Network(CERN),and litter moisture content is one of the key variables in long-term monitoring of the terrestrial water environment.This study compiles monthly litter moisture content data collected from 2008 to 2024 across several typical forest types in the Ailao Mountains,including summit mossy dwarf forest,Populus forest,and mid-montane moist evergreen broad-leaved forest.Litter moisture content was measured using the standard oven-drying method,in accordance with the Chinese Ecosystem Research Network(CERN)protocols.This dataset reveals the dynamic responses of litter moisture content to seasonal variations and extreme weather events,providing critical data support for hydrological model optimization,watershed conservation evaluation,and predictions of ecosystem responses to climate change.
