The Impact of Family Support on Parental Burnout:The Serial Mediating Roles of Resilience and the Internalization of Parental Motivation

Abstract
Objective:This present study examines the influence of family support on parental burnout and its underly-ing mechanisms,based on the Balance between Risk and Resource and Self-Determination Theory.Methods:The interper-sonal behaviours questionnaire,psychological resilience scale,comprehensive relative autonomy index,and parental burn-out questionnaire were used to survey 437 parents of primary and secondary school students.Results:(1)Family support was found to significantlynegatively predict parental burnout;and(2)family support was found to indirectly influence paren-tal burnout through the sequential mediating effects of psychological resilience and internalization of parental motivation.Conclusion:Family support can directly affect parental burnout and indirectly affect parental burnout through resilience and internalization of parental motivation.关键词
