Abstract
This study aims to investigate the effects of Fermented Corn Stalk on growth performance, meat quality, and serum indicators in meat sheep.144 3-month-old male Hu sheep(31.47±0.82 kg)were randomly divided into 4 groups(6 replicates×6 heads),and fed experimental diets supplemented with 0%,8%,16%,and 32%fermented corn stalk(FS),respectively. The adaptation trial for 7 d and main trial for 70 d.Results:1)Growth performance:The FBW of the FS16 group was 3.34%higher than FS0 group(P<0.05).The ADG was 9.72%higher than that of the FS0 group(P<0.05),with no significant difference compared to the FS8 and FS32 groups(P>0.05).The F/G decreased by 5.79%and 3.97%compared to the FS0 and FS32 groups,respectively(P<0.05),with no significant difference compared to the FS8 group(P>0.05).2)Serum biochemical indicators:The TPand GH levels in the FS8 and FS16 groups were significantly higher than those in the FS0 and FS32 groups(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between groups(P>0.05).The BUN level in the FS16 group was significantly lower than that in the other groups(P<0.05),while the IGF-I and IFNγ levels were significantly higher(P<0.05).The TG and DAO levels in the FS32 group were significantly higher than those in the other groups(P<0.05).3)Meat quality indicators:The pH 24 h and crude protein content in the FS16 group were significantly higher than those in the other groups(P<0.05).The redness and crude fat content in the FS8 and FS16 groups were significantly higher than those in the FS0 and FS32 groups(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between groups(P>0.05).The shear force was significantly lower than that in the FS0 and FS32 groups(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Adding 16%FS can improve sheep metabolism and meat quality while exerting a certain growth-promoting effect.关键词
