Clinical and pathological characteristics of male breast cancer in Western Guangdong
摘要
Abstract
Objective To analyze the clinical manifestations, pathological characteristics, and related influencing factors of male breast cancer(MBC)patients in Western Guangdong,China,so as to provide references for the regional diagnosis and treatment of this rare disease. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 30 MBC patients from Western Guangdong admitted to the Affiliated Hos-pital of Guangdong Medical University from January 2011 to November 2025.Descriptive analysis was per-formed on their age, clinical manifestations, pathological types, molecular subtypes, and treatment regimens. Results The mean age of onset of the30 patients was(61.9±13.5)years.The main clinical manifestation was uni-lateral painless breast mass, occurring in20 cases(66.7%).The predominant pathological type was invasive ductal carcinoma/invasive carcinoma of no special type, accounting for 22 cases(73.3%).Regional lymph node metastasis was identified at diagnosis in 13 cases(43.3%).The positive rate of hormone receptors was high.Estrogen receptor(ER)was positive in 21 cases(70%),and progesterone receptor(PR)was positive in 21 cases(70%).Most patients received comprehensive treatment dominated by radical mastectomy, followed by adjuvant chemotherapy and endocrine therapy after surgery. Conclusions It suggests that MBC patients in Western Guangdong present with a relatively early age at onset,as well as later clinical stage and a high rate of lymph node metastasis at initial diagnosis.Strengthening early diagnosis and implementing standardized compre-hensive treatment is of great importance, which helps improve the clinical management of MBC.关键词
