Construction of coastal free trade zones and high quality development of maritime enterprises-empirical research based on"Double Machine Learning"

Abstract
Free trade pilot zones are an important platform for promoting institutional openness and an important foundation for promoting high-quality development of maritime enterprises.This article is based on annual data of maritime enterprises in coastal provinces from 2011 to 2023,and studies the impact of coastal free trade zone construction on the high-quality development of maritime enterprises.Research has found that the construction of coastal free trade zones has effectively promoted the high-quality development of maritime enterprises.Mechanism analysis shows that coastal free trade zones mainly promote the high-quality development of maritime enterprises by alleviating financing constraints,enhancing green innovation capabilities,and promoting digital transformation.Heterogeneity analysis shows that the policy effect is more significant in regions with weak government intervention,those located in the southern marine economic circle,and enterprises with high levels of internationalization.This study provides empirical support for deepening the construction of free trade zones and the integrated development of the marine economy,and provides policy references for promoting high-quality development of marine related enterprises.关键词
