Determination of Primary and Secondary Symptoms of Common Syndromes of Community-acquired Pneumonia in Children Based on Clinical Investigation

Abstract
Objective To explore the primary and secondary symptoms of common TCM syndromes of community-acquired pneumonia(CAP)in children;To provide a basis for the establishment of diagnostic criteria for TCM syndromes of CAP in children.Methods Clinical data of 933 children with CAP from 10 research centers were selected for clinical investigation from March 2023 to July 2024 and a database was set up.Descriptive statistics,Logistic regression and data mining(artificial neural network)were used to analyze the common TCM syndromes in children with CAP,and determine the primary and secondary symptoms.Results The main symptoms of the syndrome of heat pathogen blocking lung are continuous fever,moderate fever,etc.,and the secondary symptoms are high fever,repeated fever,etc.;the main symptoms of wind heat obstructing lung syndrome are moderate fever and turbid discharge,and the secondary symptoms are low fever and daytime cough;the main symptoms of phlegm heat obstructing lung syndrome are high fever and daytime cough,and the secondary symptoms are continuous fever and repeated fever;the main symptoms of yin deficiency lung heat syndrome are low fever and dry cough,and the secondary symptoms are recurrent fever and nighttime cough;the main symptoms of toxic heat blocking lung syndrome are persistent fever and high fever,and the secondary symptoms are daytime cough and nighttime cough;the main symptoms of dampness blocking heat syndrome are mild body heat and daytime cough,and the secondary symptoms are moderate fever and low fever;the main symptoms of lung spleen qi deficiency syndrome are repeated cough and delayed healing,and the secondary symptoms are daytime cough and night cough;the main symptoms of wind cold blocking lung syndrome are moderate fever and daytime cough,and the secondary symptoms are low fever and white phlegm.Conclusion The primary and secondary symptoms of common syndromes of CAP in children are preliminarily determined,including heat pathogen blocking lung syndrome,wind heat obstructing lung syndrome,phlegm heat obstructing lung syndrome,yin deficiency lung heat syndrome,toxic heat blocking lung syndrome,dampness heat blocking lung syndrome,lung spleen qi deficiency syndrome and wind cold blocking lung syndrome,which provides the basis for the establishment of diagnostic criteria for the syndromes.关键词
