双侧小耳畸形患儿应用无创式骨导助听装置的远程随访
Remote follow-up of children with bilateral microtia aided with non-invasive bone conducted hearing devices
摘要
Abstract
Objective To assess the hearing outcomes and patient satisfaction in children with bilateral microtia aided with bone conduction hearing device(BCHD)through remote follow-up using a combination of four questionnaires. Methods Fifteen children with bilateral congenital microtia fitted with a unilateral softband BCHD at the Department of Otolaryngology,Peking Union Medical College Hospital, between September 2015 and November 2021 were remote followed-up using questionnaires covering the categories of auditory performance(CAP),speech intelligibility rating(SIR),speech, spatial and other qualities of hearing scale for parents(SSQ-P)and the hearing device satisfaction scale/-parent(HDSS-P).Results CAP score was 4.50±1.22 without BCHD and 7 with the aid, with SIR scores at 2.25±1.36 and 4.50±0.52,respectively(P<0.05).The SSQ-P questionnaire showed significant improvement in speech comprehension, hearing quality and total score with BCHD(P<0.05),although not in spatial hearing(P=0.116).With an average of 10 hours per day use of BCHD,the total HDSS-P score was 0.91 ± 0.39.Conclusions Non-invasive BCHD in children with bilateral microtia can significantly improve hearing and speech development and quality of life, although with limited benefits in ability of sound localization.Remote follow-up using a combination of four questionnaires can provide a comprehensive picture of outcomes with BCHD in these children.关键词
