Abstract
Objective To report cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the external auditory canal,as well as their survival and influencing factors.Methods This retrospective analysis included 43 patients treated at the Sixth Medical Center of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital from May 2012 to September 2024.General demographics were collected.Survival was analyzed using Kaplan-Meier survival curves,and the Log-rank test was conducted to investigate factors influencing disease progression and survival.The COX proportional hazards model was employed to determine prognostic factors.Results Age,tumor staging,recurrence or Metastasis,facial paralysis,disease categorization at first visit,and surgical margin status showed significant differences among patients with different survival outcomes(P<0.05),with facial paralysis,surgical margin status and recurrence/Metastasis significantly influencing survival and recurrence/Metastasis being an independent risk factor affecting survival outcomes.Conclusions Early diagnosis is critical in detecting external auditory canal malignancies.Ensuring negative surgical margins at lesion resection,supplemented with appropriate radiotherapy and chemotherapy,can effectively improve survival and reduce recurrence.关键词
