Development Path,Characteristics,and Enlightenments for Social Science and Technology Awards in China

Abstract
[Purpose/Significance]As an integral component of China's science and technology(S&T)inno-vation ecosystem,social S&T awards have gained growing international prominence and disciplinary recognition in recent years.This study aims to systematically investigate the development trajectory and characteristics of Chinese social S&T awards,clarify their positioning within the science and technology innovation system,and emphasize the understanding of development trends and key characteristics in recent years.[Method/Process]First,this study reviews the historical development of international S&T awards,the main characteristics of S&T award system,and the research progress and application scenarios related to the evaluation of S&T awards.Then,this study discusses and summarizes the role,status,and development stage of Chinese social S&T awards.Next,from a retrospective perspective,this study analyzes the overall characteristics of Chinese social S&T awards,with particular focus on their developmental trends from 2015(over the past decade).[Result/Conclusion]Over the past decade,the development trends of Chinese social S&T awards has shown distinctive features such as a substantial growth and diversification in the number of awards,award bonus aligned with international standards,growing influence and recognition,selection criteria emphasizing scientific value,and evaluation mechanisms in line with international practices.Finally,based on the construction of a social S&T award system that conforms to both the regularities of S&T development and the local situation in China,several suggestions are proposed for the development of Chinese social S&T awards,including:encouraging and guiding social forces to establish S&T awards,promoting effective policy guidance and regulatory management,constructing and maintaining a unified information platform for social S&T awards,maintaining and strengthening the academic positioning and profes-sional characteristics of social S&T awards,and cultivating and establishing internationally influential social S&T awards.关键词
