Research on Visualization Design of Tongzuo Furniture Based on the Concept of Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection

Abstract
Situated along the river and adjacent to the sea,Nantong is a place of outstanding natural beauty and cultural brilliance,nurturing a regionally distinct culture with profound depth.As a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage item in Jiangsu Province,Tongzuo furniture——rooted in the developmental trajectory of Ming and Qing dynasties——has become a representative carrier of regional cultural influence and historical value,distinguished by its unique decorative motifs,high-quality materials,and exquisite craftsmanship.However,in comparison with widely recognized mainstream furniture schools such as Suzuo,Jingzuo,and Guangzuo,Tongzuo furniture in Nantong faces practical challenges in contemporary inheritance,including limited public awareness and narrow dissemination channels.Grounded in the concept of the living transmission of intangible cultural heritage and employing visualization design methods,this paper systematically investigates the cultural system and visual symbols of Tongzuo furniture,aiming to explore innovative communication pathways for its intangible heritage transmission and to endow traditional culture with contemporary vitality and contemporary relevance.关键词
