Impact of emotional nursing of traditional Chinese medicine combined with manual lymphatic drainage and acupressure on breast engorgement of primiparas on lactogenesis stage Ⅱ

Abstract
Objective To analyze the impact of emotional nursing of traditional Chinese medicine combined with manual lymphatic drainage and acupressure on breast engorgement of primiparas on lactogenesis stage Ⅱ.Methods A total of 112 primiparas with breast engorgement on lactogenesis stage Ⅱ admitted to Longhua District Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital from January 2022 to January 2024 were enrolled in this study.Using simple random sampling,participants were assigned into an observation group(n=56)and a control group(n=56).Both groups received routine nursing,manual lymphatic drainage,and acupressure,while the observation group additionally received emotional nursing of traditional Chinese medicine.The changes of breast firmness,pain intensity,milk production,and psychological state of the two groups were compared before and after intervention,and the postpartum breastfeeding rate of the two groups was compared as well.Results At 1,3,and 5 days after intervention,the breast firmness and Numerical Rating Scale(NRS)scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the milk volume scores were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).At 5 days after intervention,the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale(EPDS)and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS)scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Both groups showed better scores compared with pre-intervention levels(P<0.05).The breastfeeding rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group after 48 h and 5 days of intervention(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of emotional nursing of traditional Chinese medicine with manual lymphatic drainage and acupressure can effectively relieve the breast engorgement of primiparas on lactogenesis stage Ⅱ,reduce breast firmness,relieve pain,increase milk production,and promote improvements in maternal psychological state and breastfeeding rate.关键词
