Abstract

Taking P&H2800 bucket teeth of large mining excavator as the research object,ZGMn13Mo high manganese steel was used as casting material.The mold filling and solidification processes of the original bottom gating system were numerically simulated by ProCAST casting simulation software,and the distribution of shrinkage and porosity defects was predicted based on Niyama criterion.The results show that the original process has problems such as long filling time,high pouring temperature and insufficient mold preheating,which lead to concentrated shrinkage and porosity in the thick section of bucket teeth,seriously affecting the mechanical properties and service life of castings.The pouring temperature,pouring speed and mold preheating temperature were optimized by three-factor and three-level orthogonal test,and the optimal parameter combination was determined as 1 450 ℃,16 kg·s-1 and 600 ℃.Meanwhile,the gating system was optimized by increasing the diameter of sprue,adding inner gates and sprue basins.The simulation after optimization shows that there are no shrinkage and porosity defects in the casting body,and the defects are concentrated in the riser and gating system.Verified by actual production,the surface quality of bucket teeth is significantly improved,the internal structure is compact,and the rejection rate is greatly reduced,which provides a technical reference for efficient casting of large high manganese steel bucket teeth.
