Advances in the Factors Influencing Sperm Storage Capacity in Hens and Their Underlying Mechanisms

Abstract
In modern breeder production,the sperm storage capacity of hens is one of the key factors affecting egg fertility and hatchability and is crucial for improving reproductive efficiency.The sperm storage tubules(SSTs)are avian-specific organs for storing sperm.Enhancing the sperm storage capacity of hens can reduce the frequency of artificial insemination,extend the insemination interval,and improve the utilization efficiency of roosters.This review article summarizes recent advances in the structural characteristics of SSTs,the factors influencing sperm storage capacity,and their underlying mechanisms,to provide a reference for improving the reproductive performance of hens and enhancing the reproductive efficiency of breeder flocks.关键词
