Abstract

Driven by the global carbon neutrality strategy,CO2 pipeline transportation is a key part of CCUS,and the design of its venting system has become an important issue in the engineering field.The current design specifications of supercritical CO2 pipeline venting systems are not perfect,and the research aims to supplement the detailed rules to improve the safety and reliability of pipelines.Through numerical simulation,experiment and engineering data analysis of OLGA,Ansys Fluent and Phast software,this paper innovatively introduced the analysis of low temperature characteristics of steel,noise simulation and flow analysis,and multiphase flow transient simulation.The temperature safety threshold of the trunk line based on the low-temperature tough-brittle transition was proposed,such as critical safe concentration limits based on CO2 diffusion,Mach number limit of pipe mouth based on flow noise,and emptying time requirements based on pipeline safety.The research results refined the technical documents of the design of supercritical CO2 pipeline venting system at home and abroad,and put forward the determination principles of key parameters such as the minimum working temperature,CO2 critical safety concentration,upper limit of Mach number at the pipe mouth,upper limit of venting environmental noise,and venting time,which broke through the limitations of the traditional design principles of natural gas venting system,and provided a scientific basis for the design of supercritical CO2 pipeline venting system and the formulation of venting plan.
