Informal Environmental Regulation,Value Perception and Resource Utilization Performance of Livestock and Poultry Manure

Abstract
Enhancing farmers' performance in resource utilization of livestock and poultry manure is of great significance for both agricultural ecological protection and the improvement of rural living environ-ments.Based on survey data from 690 rural households in Xinjiang,this study investigates the direct im-pact and underlying mechanisms of informal environmental regulation on farmers' performance in resource utilization of livestock manure.The results indicate that:(1)the overall mean performance of manure re-source utilization among Xinjiang farmers is 0.504,indicating room for further improvement;(2)All di-mensions of informal environmental regulation positively influence farmers' resource utilization perform-ance,with the impact hierarchy being:incentive-based regulation＞guidance-based regulation＞con-straint-based regulation;(3)The effect of informal environmental regulation on resource utilization per-formance exhibits intergenerational differences,with a more pronounced positive impact on old generation of farmers;(4)Informal environmental regulation enhances farmers' resource utilization performance pri-marily through value perception;(5)Formal environmental regulation can synergistically improve farmers' manure resource utilization performance when combined with informal regulation.Accordingly,it is rec-ommended to leverage the positive role of informal environmental regulation,respect intergenerational differences among farming groups,strictly formulate and enforce formal environmental regulations,and continuously promote resource utilization of livestock manure by farmers.关键词
