Effect of positive schemas on positive mental health in college students:Chain mediating effect

Abstract
Objective:This study explored the mediating effect of perceived responsiveness and basic psychological needs in the relationship between positive schemas and positive mental health.Methods:A total of 1,035 college students participated in a self-report questionnaire.Results:The results showed that:①There was a significant cor-relation between positive schemas and positive mental health(r=0.82,P＜0.001).② Perceived responsiveness and basic psychological needs individually mediated the link between positive schemas and positive mental health,with the mediation effect of 0.16(95％CI=[0.07,0.25])and 0.06(95％CI=[0.04,0.09]).They also acted as sequential mediators in this relationship,with the mediation effect of 0.04(95％CI=[0.03,0.06]).Conclusion:Positive schemas relate to positive mental health through the sequential mediation of perceived responsiveness and basic psychological needs.The findings contributed to the literature on positive schemas and provided empirical support for interventions to promote college students' positive mental health.关键词
