Abstract
In building water supply and drainage systems, copper alloy pipes exhibit high strength and corrosion resistance. To extend their service life, this study investigates the shielded metal arc welding(SMAW)process for copper alloy pipes.H65 copper alloy pipes with an outer diameter of 50 mm and a wall thickness of 3 mm were selected as the base material, and MONEL187 electrodes(manufactured by INCO,USA)were used with an inverter DC arc welding machine.Welding was performed at five different current levels:100A,110A,120A,130A,and 140A.After welding, the specimens were subjected to two post-weld heat treatment conditions:480℃ for 120 min and 620℃ for 120min.The performance of the welded copper alloy pipe specimens was evaluated through tensile testing, friction and wear testing, and corrosion resistance testing,in order to analyze the changes in properties under different welding process conditions. The experimental results show that welding parameters and heat treatment conditions significantly affect the performance of copper alloy pipes. In particular, the combination of a welding current of 120A and a post-weld heat treatment at 480℃ for 120 min yielded the highest tensile stress among all specimens.Under this welding condition, the wear rate was only 0.95 ×[10-8g/(r·N)],and the specimens exhibited better resistance to both wear and corrosion. Therefore, the welding process using a current of 120A combined with post-weld heat treatment at 480℃ for 120 min can effectively ensure the welding quality of copper alloy pipes.关键词
